Introduction to Container Registry¶
The Container Registry service provides a secure, private, and reliable home for your container images. Hosted in our own data centers and built on the enterprise-grade Harbor platform, it ensures your container images are stored securely and are readily available for deployment to your Kubernetes clusters.
As a foundational component of the Contain Platform, the Container Registry service is designed to integrate seamlessly with your CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes workflows. It allows you to manage, scan, and sign your container images, providing a single source of truth for all your containerized applications.
This service is based on the open-source Harbor project.
Features¶
- Private and Secure: Your container images are stored in a private registry, isolated from other users. Role-based access control (RBAC) allows you to define granular permissions for your teams.
- Vulnerability Scanning: The service automatically scans your container images for known vulnerabilities, providing you with detailed reports and the ability to block the deployment of insecure images.
- Image Signing: You can sign your container images to ensure their integrity and authenticity. This allows you to verify that the images you deploy are the ones you intended to build.
- High Availability: The Container Registry service is deployed in a highly available configuration, ensuring your images are always accessible when you need them.
- Hosted in Our Data Centers: The service is hosted in our own secure and compliant data centers, making it the ideal choice for customers with data sovereignty needs that require storage within Europe or Denmark.
